DA' HELL HAPPENED #78: WWE Monday Night RAW (SPECIAL RAW 25) - January 22nd, 2018
Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the "Da' Hell Happened" featuring the review of last night's special RAW 25, with the celebration of 25 years of RAW. It was a show full of hype and fans had lots of expectations for it. Did it deliver? Let's see!
MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns vs. The Miz
This show lacked quality wrestling, but that's understandable. Still, this match was a good one, and The Miz captured his 8th Intercontinental Championship, and is one reign away from tying Chris Jericho as the man with the most reigns as Intercontinental Champion ever. It's great to see how they developed that match, full of interferences and small details that caught us in the moment.
MVP OF THE NIGHT (Honorable Mentions):
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin: What can I say? Another monster pop for the "Rattlesnake", who returned and, for the first time in years, kicked Mr. McMahon's a$$.
The Miz: The "A-Lister" is about to be a father and is now Intercontinental Champion. It doesn't get any better than this.
Trish Stratus: Enormous pop for the best women's wrestler of all time (sorry Sasha Banks). A record 7-time Women's Champion and someone I'm waiting to see Sunday at the Royal Rumble.
MVP OF THE NIGHT: Braun Strowman
The "Monster Among Men" once again showed how dominant he is, and once again destroyed both Kane and Brock Lesnar, being left as the last man standing and proving that Lesnar is going to have a hard time defending that championship Sunday at the Rumble.
DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: The whole show was an absolute mess
Yeah, I get that cheap pops are easier, and giving away the legends like that is easier than to actually have a structured segment like DX and Bálor Club. But completely messing it around, especially leaving the Manhattan Center with nothing but a screen to watch RAW? I think the expectations were way too high for what this show turned out to be. Let's hope that they left their ideas for last night's show for the Royal Rumble, and make an awesome show on Sunday.
