DA' HELL HAPPENED #15: WWE Monday Night RAW & WWE SmackDown Live, September 26/27 2016
Hello everyone! Welcome to another edition of "Da' Hell Happened" featuring the review of RAW and SmackDown of this week. WWE's flagship shows were highlighted by the fallout of RAW's exclusive PPV, Clash of Champions, and a WWE World Championship match on SmackDown, with AJ Styles defending the title for the first time.
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW - SEPTEMBER 26, 2016
HONORABLE MENTIONS (MATCH OF THE NIGHT): TJ Perkins vs. Tony Nese
The WWE Cruiserweight Champion debuted on RAW against a man who no one knew anything about, but quickly found out he is as strong and as agile as they come. Great match from both men. Perkins is definitely a great ambassador for the cruiserweights, and a face of the division.
MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Roman Reigns vs. Rusev - WWE United States Title Match
Less than 24 hours after a grueling and a very physical match, Roman Reigns and Rusev delivered another amazing match much to the delight of the fans. This one was more mat based than the one they had Sunday, but it was everything a title match should be. Rusev was more angry than ever, and Roman was pleasured to hold the United States Title up high.
MVP OF THE NIGHT: Roman Reigns
Even though Kevin Owens is a big candidate, you gotta give it up to Roman. United States Champion, delivered great matches week after week. This time was no exception, and his match with Rusev is a great proof why Roman should not be criticized in all aspects. Inside the squared circle, he is one of the best in the company. Night in and night out, he delivers spectacular matches, and performs 110%. Hate him for his character, hate the way he is booked, hate his gear, but don't hate his wrestling skills.
DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: Santa Jericho - "Maybe I am Santa Claus. Maybe I'll come down there and sit on your lap!"
Though in the previous editions the "Da' Hell Happened Moment Of The Night" featured non-scripted moment, this one was scripted (maybe) but deserves IT. This moment should definitely be on "The List of Jericho".
WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE - SEPTEMBER 27, 2016
MATCH OF THE NIGHT: AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose - WWE World Title match
You wouldn't expect anything less from these guys. Styles and Ambrose produced an amazing main event on SmackDown Live, with Styles defending the WWE World Championship for the first time during his reign, and also for the first time in SmackDown Live history. Mixing John Cena at the end of the match created more curiosity about the outcome of the No Mercy Triple Threat match, which can see Cena walk out as a 16-time World Champion, tying Ric Flair's record.
HONORABLE MENTIONS (MVP OF THE NIGHT): Randy Orton
This week on SmackDown, "The Viper" showed he lacks fear, especially with Bray Wyatt. Orton also showed "The Eater of Worlds" who is the king of mind games, out smarting Wyatt by attacking him in his own place.
MVP OF THE NIGHT: The Miz and Dolph Ziggler
Ladies and gentleman, here's a very strong candidate for segment of the year. Every second of this segment was amazing. It was explosive, aggressive, as both men traded insults, resulting in a No Mercy rematch for the Intercontinental Championship that is set to make a big headline. The stipulation? If Ziggler loses, his career is over. Let's see what happens a week from Sunday.
DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: For the first time in this weekly section, I have no "Da' Hell Happened Moment" of SmackDown Live this week.
And we end this week's "Da' Hell Happened" here. Hope you enjoyed it. Come back next week as we break down a possible return to the ring from Seth Rollins and the last SmackDown Live before No Mercy.
