DA' HELL HAPPENED #14: WWE Monday Night RAW & WWE SmackDown Live September 19/20 2016

Written by: RĂºben Duarte
Hey guys! Sorry for being a bit late on this post, but lately it's been hard to be around a lot and be active. Nonetheless I'm back for another post of "Da' Hell Happened" featuring the review of RAW and SmackDown Live. This week was highlighted by the arrival of the cruiserweights on RAW, and a first-time ever clash between Dean Ambrose and John Cena. Let's see what we got!

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW, SEPTEMBER 19, 2016

HONORABLE MENTION (MATCH OF THE NIGHT): Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns in a Steel Cage match

Any wrestling promoter in the world that could do what WWE did in two weeks in a row with their main event and not give the fans disappointment can call themselves very lucky. For the second time in a row, Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens main evented the show... and delivered both times. This week, the stipulation and drama helped a lot, but the chemistry between both men is sensational. Another great main event.

MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Brian Kendrick vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Gran Metalik vs. Rich Swann

How dare you tell me this was not the match of the night? How dare you tell me you are not excited with the arrival of the cruiserweights? No fan can say bad about the wrestling quality seen in WWE on a weekly basis, but the arrival of the less than 205-pound wrestlers will bring more magic to the show, and push the roster to make even better. What a time to be a WWE fan!

MVP OF THE NIGHT: Seth Rollins

Twice that night, Seth Rollins hit a crossbody from a higher point of the stage to somebody. He flattered both Kevin Owens and Rusev with a crossbody from the top of the steel cage. Not something we haven't seen a lot in WWE, but everytime someone does that, we need to applaud that person. Seth also showed he is willing to risk it all for the WWE Universal Championship, and this could mean trouble for the champion Kevin Owens Sunday at Clash of Champions.

DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: Ending

Well, the steel cage was lowered. All four superstars (Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Rusev) were in the ring. Something had to happen. And the crew just ends the show like that? What the hell happened? Unfortunately, I know the problem: issues with time. We saw that with the Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins not having time to appear on RAW prior to the main event. If there's something WWE should address now, even before the problem with the ratings, is the issues with time. It happens every week.

WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE - SEPTEMBER 20, 2016

MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler

The Miz was forced to defend his championship against Dolph Ziggler due to contractual obligations. These two have proved time and time again that they have a tremendous in-ring chemistry, and this time was no exception. They fought back and forth, and the finish with Miz spraying Ziggler suggests a third and final match, possibly ending with the so-awaited final glory moment of Ziggler.

HONORABLE MENTIONS (MVP OF THE NIGHT): Alexa Bliss and The Usos

Alexa Bliss entered SmackDown Live as a rookie that has a chance at the SmackDown Women's Title in a WWE PPV. She showed intensity and determination to be the new champion. She left SmackDown Live as a real threat to the championship. She was just vicious. Probably the best Alexa Bliss we've seen in WWE, not only on SD Live, but also from her time in NXT. And if Alexa was vicious, "vicious" is the middle name of The Usos. They took out American Alpha in a very aggressive style, earned a shot at the Tag Titles, and threw that in the champions' face. A statement made by the #1 contenders.

MVP OF THE NIGHT: Dean Ambrose

There's not much to think about the MVP of the Night when someone defeats John Cena in the main event of a WWE weekly flagship show. Even though the match ended with a roll-up, Ambrose left with the credit, and a shot at the WWE World Title guaranteed next week on SmackDown Live.

DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Carmella & Natalya

All of a sudden, there's a 2-minute segment that gives us little. There was no heat added between Bella and Carmella. WWE expects us to believe in momentaneous heat between Carmella and Natalya, and also Natalya and Naomi. Pure confusion, and the problem? The same with RAW: time issues. It's a serious problem these days.

And with this I wrap up this week's "Da' Hell Happened". Next week we'll be back with the fallout of RAW's PPV Clash of Champions, and a WWE World Championship match between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. See you next week!
