DA' HELL HAPPENED #9: WWE Monday Night RAW, July 11, 2016

Welcome to this week’s “Da’ Hell Happened”, featuring the review segment by segment of Monday Night RAW’s edition of July 11, 2016, this week at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Before we start, make sure to visit OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL tomorrow at 11AM EST for breaking news regarding what is going to happen next week here on Social Wrestling Report during RAW and SmackDown, July 18 and July 19.

Battle Royal to determine #1 Contender for The Miz’s Intercontinental Championship
RAW opened with the Battle Royal to determine the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship. Before the match started, the champion The Miz wished good luck to the competitors of the battle royal. Bob Backlund was at ringside to support Darren Young. Finally, the stupid promos are over, and we finally get to see what this whole “Make Darren Young great again” is all about, as he won the Battle Royal to earn the right to face The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship after Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin eliminated each other, leaving Young alone in the ring. Chants of “Darren Young” echoed in the arena after the match. Also, Baron Corbin looked goddamn powerful.

Zack Ryder Vs. Sheamus
Tell me where your logic is, WWE. You really expect someone to be seen as a threat to the title of someone like Rusev after being defeated by someone not in contendership to any title, and not a top guy, like Sheamus, clean in the middle of the ring? It is right that Ryder was attacked backstage and seemed to be injured in his arm, but he came to the ring with no signs whatsoever of injury, so that doesn’t count as a reason. Where’s your logic, WWE? This is a booking so confusing, I don’t really know what to say anymore. It just doesn’t make any sense.
Still, Ryder debuted a new theme song, one more mature and more serious than the old one.

Lucha Dragons Vs. Breezango
Imagine that the Dragons are splitted next week, and Sin Cara takes off the mask, only to reveal that it was Hunico all along, attacking Kalisto. Oh man, that would be BOTCHABLE. Like that springboard move Kalisto executed. Still, he compensated us with some beautiful moves. Breezango defeated The Lucha Dragons after Breeze superkicked Kalisto in the butt, following it with a small package.

The Rollins Report - Interview with Roman Reigns
Jon Stewart? Nah, this is Seth “Freakin” Rollins, the best television host/reporter in the world, with the debut of his own talk-show, The Rollins Report. He showed an exclusive interview that he conducted, asking the hard-hitting questions to Roman Reigns after his suspension. What a genius interview. Only problem? Reigns was featured in that interview with the WWE Championship. Still, what a great segment. After the interview was done in the tron, WWE Champion Dean Ambrose interrupted Rollins. Passionate promos from both men, that is the way you carry a feud without the third part. They agreed to a one-on-one WWE title match next week on RAW. A big “yes” to that.

NEXT WEEK ON RAW:
WWE Champion Dean Ambrose Vs. Seth Rollins - WWE Championship Match
Kevin Owens Vs. Cesaro
In the beginning, with Zayn in the commentary table, Owens didn’t come out to his theme song. Backstage, he was refusing to enter the arena unless Zayn left the announce table. Shane authorized Zayn to be at ringside in the beginning, but Stephanie ordered that Zayn was kicked out of it. While Zayn was leaving and Owens entered the ring, Mr. McMahon arrived in the building. He said tonight he will name a Commissioner for SmackDown. After a quick commercial break, Cesaro came out and the match began. And what a match this was. In the end, Kevin Owens defeated Cesaro with a swinging neckbreaker. After the match, Zayn came from the audience and attacked Owens. Cesaro swinged the hell out of Owens. I’m so ready for Battleground to see Owens and Zayn go at it.

Heath Slater (w/ Social Outcasts) Vs. Titus O’Neil
O’Neil defeated Slater following a Clash of the Titus.

The fight at the compound: The New Day Vs. The Wyatt Family
Ask and shall receive. The New Day answered The Wyatts’ call to be in their compound. A hell of a fight broke down. They used it all, from buckets to trash cans. In the end, the fireflies, the followers of Bray Wyatt illuminated that area even more, leaving The New Day mentally “ill” and not knowing what to think about that. It’s like I already saw something similar to this before, but it had a ring and it didn’t look like a horror story.

The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) Vs. Enzo & Big Cass
Typical promo from Enzo & Big Cass. They are on fire, and everyone is clearly behind them. Great promo targeting The Club, explaining why they helped Cena last week. Styles then interrupted, saying Cena doesn’t care about them, giving them the chance to leave. They didn’t leave, getting into the ring. Big Cass has the hottest tag in the biz. AJ tossed Cass to the crowd, forcing a disqualification, and as Enzo seemed to be in trouble, John Cena, the man who was supposed to be in LA for the ESPYS ceremony, rushed down to the ring to attack The Club and help Enzo Amore and Big Cass. "Cena" chants echoed through the arena.

Sasha Banks Vs. Dana Brooke
Good match from both ladies. In the end, Banks cemented her status as top threat to Charlotte’s title with a victory over Brooke, using the Bank Statement and making her submit. After the match, Charlotte stated that, if Banks wants a title match, then she will have to face Dana again this week on SmackDown, and if she wins, “maybe” she will get the title match she so desperately wants.

Mr. McMahon chooses the new SmackDown commissioner
Shane and Stephanie McMahon come out to the ring. And then, their father comes out too. And when the Chairman returns, you know something special will happen. McMahon questioned his children. He wanted Stephanie to not be so sweet as she has been these past weeks, and he wants Shane to show the aggression he showed at WrestleMania. He wanted both to prove who was more worthy of being SmackDown's commissioner. In the end, Mr. McMahon chose Stephanie to be RAW's commissioner, and Shane SmackDown's commissioner. He added next week he wants both of them to name a GM for their shows, and want them to compete for ratings, merchandise, everything. He wants the game to begin. The war is on.
