DA' HELL HAPPENED #52: WWE SmackDown LIVE - May 9th, 2017

Hey guys, and welcome to another edition of "Da' Hell Happened" featuring the review of this week's SmackDown LIVE. The blue brand's weekly show was poor in match card, but effective in terms of building storylines towards Backlash. So let's roll!

RESULTS:

Natalya def. Becky Lynch
Erick Rowan def. Luke Harper
Dolph Ziggler confronted Shinsuke Nakamura
Breezango def. The Ascension
Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens & Baron Corbin def. Randy Orton, AJ Styles & Sami Zayn

AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Randy Orton stand together.

MATCH OF THE NIGHT: WWE Champion Randy Orton, AJ Styles & Sami Zayn vs. Jinder Mahal, United States Champion Kevin Owens & Baron Corbin

Would you look at the star power involved in this six-man tag team main event match. Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin. It doesn't get any better than this, to be honest with you. It was a good match with higher spots. The highlight is definitely Jinder Mahal pinning the WWE Champion and giving his team the victory, warning Randy Orton that the "Maharaja" is a huge threat to his championship (in booking terms, obviously).

AJ Styles and Baron Corbin fight in a Six-Man Tag Team match full of stars.

MVP OF THE NIGHT (Honorable Mentions):

Breezango: If you thought Breezango couldn't deliver, you're receiving a slap in the face every time they appear on the TV screens on SmackDown LIVE. Their whole investigation process with the "Fashion Files" is a very creative, funny and fresh thing on TV, and it being compared to "Law and Order" makes it even better. Remember: SmackDown LIVE is the "land of opportunity".

Shinsuke Nakamura: Everyone knows Shinsuke Nakamura will only make his in-ring debut at Backlash, but people got a taste of it this week as he was attacked by Ziggler and countered with some "strong style". I'm pumped up for Backlash.

Shinsuke Nakamura gives Dolph Ziggler a taste of what is the "strong style".

MVP OF THE NIGHT: Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers

The "Maharaja" pinned the WWE Champion this week on SmackDown LIVE, picking up a huge wave of momentum heading into Backlash. Mahal has been surprising to say the least. People are divided in this theme, and whether Mahal really deserves this opportunity. I think he got it, and he's making the most of it. Compare them to Seth Rollins and J&J Security and I recommend you to go and wash your eyes because you got an Indian stable in front of you that were given an opportunity to shine, and are making the most of it. Doesn't matter if this is to open markets in India, Jinder Mahal is a top name from now on and is a name you will never forget.

Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers stand tall over the WWE Champion Randy Orton.

DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: No DHH moment this week

And with this I wrap up this week's SmackDown LIVE "Da' Hell Happened". Next week I will be back for the full review of the last SmackDown LIVE before Backlash. See you there!
