DA' HELL HAPPENED #51: WWE Monday Night RAW - May 8th, 2017

How's it going everyone? Welcome to another edition of Da' Hell Happened featuring the review of this week's Monday Night RAW that was held at the O2 Arena in London, England. This week's red brand show featured two co-acting General Managers of RAW, a #1 contender's Tag Team Turmoil match and an Intercontinental Championship match on the horizon set for next week. So let's roll!

RESULTS:

Kurt Angle named Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose the acting GM of RAW (through the cellphone)
The Miz reveals Stephanie McMahon named him a co-acting GM of RAW
Finn Bálor def. The Miz
RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss /w Nia Jax def. Mickie James w/ Bayley
Braun Strowman vs. Kalisto ended in no-contest after interference from Roman Reigns
Cesaro & Sheamus won a Tag Team Turmoil match and became #1 contender's to the RAW Tag Team Championships
Seth Rollins def. Samoa Joe via DQ
TJP def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher
Sasha Banks def. Alicia Fox
Bray Wyatt def. Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose

Samoa Joe vowed to destroy Seth Rollins and slay the "Kingslayer".

MATCH OF THE NIGHT (HONORABLE MENTIONS):

The Miz vs. Finn Bálor: If these two guys could have a full 20-minute PPV match, I would definitely enjoy it. They are both good inside the ring, and can deliver as seen last night on RAW.

Tag Team Turmoil match: This match served to put Sheamus and Cesaro on the map as the most dominant tag team in the Tag Team division on RAW. They beat every team involved in the match, and have a lot of momentum to beat a team like The Hardy Boyz at Extreme Rules.

Sheamus and Cesaro were one of the two teams to start the Tag Team Turmoil match, Golden Truth were the last entrants.

MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt

We have seen this match so many times, it's almost impossible to say it's the best match of the night. In this case, I have to name it the best match of the night, simply because it was. They were hot from the get go, with Miz on commentary playing his storyline with Ambrose well, and Wyatt and the IC Champ delivering inside the ring, even with original moves (that sickening suplex from the bottom rope to the outside by Wyatt). With this match, Ambrose has a serious threat to his championship as he defends it next week against Miz, while Wyatt continues to dominate the entire male division on RAW and served well to send a message to the man he has a problem with, Finn Bálor.

Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose faced Bray Wyatt in the main event of Monday Night RAW.

MVP OF THE NIGHT: The Miz

99% of WWE fans feared that, after the Superstar Shake-up, Miz would lose everything he gained on SmackDown LIVE, and would be relegated to a certified jobber again on the red brand. Fortunately, that has not been the case, as seen this week on RAW. Miz was on a high note at the end of the show, holding the Intercontinental Championship above his head and stomping Ambrose's head as he prepares to take on the IC Champ next week on RAW for the title. Miz was the hottest heel act on SmackDown LIVE, and if he continues like this, he will follow that heel act onto the RAW brand.

The Miz stood tall at the end of RAW, holding Dean Ambrose's Intercontinental Championship above his head.

DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: Kurt Angle names Ambrose acting General Manager of RAW; Stephanie McMahon names The Miz co-acting General Manager of RAW

Let's think about this for one second: why would Kurt Angle or Stephanie McMahon give any WWE superstar the General Manager role, even for one night? I'm not even talking about how insane it is to give that to a lunatic like Ambrose, I'm just thinking about any general superstar. No logical reason as to why that happened. The roles were given like that, and even worse? Revealed by the own superstars! Why would anyone believe Angle gave Ambrose the GM role without hearing Angle saying that? Lazy booking from the Creative Team.

The moment Miz reveals Ambrose is not the only acting General Manager of RAW for the evening.

And with this I wrap up this week's DHH for RAW. I will be back tomorrow for the full review of SmackDown LIVE. See you there!
