DA' HELL HAPPENED #34: WWE Fast Lane

Hey everyone and welcome to another edition of Da' Hell Happened featuring the review of last night's WWE Fast Lane. And wow, so far the best RAW PPV of the year. It's true, the best of the year. I hope everyone brushed their teeth, took a shower and spent some time with their families instead of wasting 3/4 hours watching the PPV. Well, let's see it all:

Samoa Joe def. Sami Zayn (Rate: 3.75*)
Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows (C) def. Enzo Amore & Big Cass to retain the RAW Tag Team Championships (Rate: 2.75*)
Sasha Banks def. Nia Jax (Rate: 2.75*)
Cesaro def. Jinder Mahal (Rate: 2.5*)
Big Show def. Rusev (Rate: 2.25*)

MATCH OF THE NIGHT (HONORABLE MENTIONS): Samoa Joe vs. Sami Zayn

WWE did it right and decided to have Samoa Joe take on Sami Zayn to start the main show of Fast Lane. They knew the show was going to be shit, so they decided to give us an awesome match to begin the show, and give fans hope that the PPV was going to be something special or, at least, good. These two have a rich story from the indy scene, and they proved they have chemistry by producing the second best match of the night.

At some point, Sami Zayn brought the fight to Samoa Joe, but was unable to leave victorious.
MATCH OF THE NIGHT: WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Jack Gallagher for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

I don't know if everyone will agree with me, but the Cruiserweight Championship match was, for me, the best match of the night. It was a shitty card, and for me this match was another "good" Cruiserweight Championship match on a WWE PPV. And boy oh boy, was I so wrong. It was the first time I heard the fans chant "This is Awesome" in a Cruiserweight match. They produced a great match, worthy of a better spot on the card. Gallagher is just fun to watch, and Neville is in the best shape of his WWE career.

Neville surpassed Jack Gallagher to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title.
MVP OF THE NIGHT (HONORABLE MENTIONS): Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, Neville, Jack Gallagher

If you saw Samoa Joe's social media interview with Charly Caruso on the Kickoff show, and then watched him dominate Sami Zayn in the first match of the card, you know he is one of the best on the roster, and certainly made an impact on the main roster. Roman Reigns defeated the "Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman and is ready to have a high-calibre match at WrestleMania 33. Neville and Jack Gallagher, in my opinion, stole the show, producing the best match of the night and finally doing something for the Cruiserweight division, winning the night.

Samoa Joe defeated Sami Zayn at Fast Lane.
Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman at Fast Lane.
MVP OF THE NIGHT: Goldberg

Even though I'm pissed off that Goldberg made a quick work out of Kevin Owens, I know it was the right thing to do due to the booking he got at Survivor Series and the Rumble. How logic would it be to have Kevin Owens last more with Goldberg than Brock Lesnar did? Making such impact in the main event, Goldberg secured his spot in the main event of WrestleMania, and will certainly bring prestige to the Universal Championship. I'm just critic that, in 2017, the main event of WrestleMania is Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar when there are Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Finn Bálor, AJ Styles and so many others stepping up in the roster. One thing is for sure: whether I like the idea of having Bill vs. Lesnar at Mania for the title or not, I will definitely see what happens.

Goldberg defeated Kevin Owens in 22 seconds to win the WWE Universal Championship.
DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: Booking the final moments of Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair

Yea, yea. The streak is over. Everyone criticized the streak for making every RAW Women's Championship match so predictable, but let's see: wasn't this streak meant to, not only elevate Charlotte, but elevate the person that would break it? And what does WWE do? Have Bayley break it with an assist from Sasha Banks, completely taking away the elevation Bayley could have received being the babyface to beat Charlotte on a WWE PPV. I know they have plans for Mania involving these three, but I would have preferred to have Charlotte win than Bayley not winning clean against her, and cementing herself as a top star on the roster.

Bayley retained the RAW Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair with an assist from Sasha Banks, breaking Charlotte's PPV victory streak.
And with this I finish another edition of DHH. Wednesday I'll be back with the review of RAW and SmackDown Live, which will feature the fallout of Fast Lane, as well as more developments as we head towards WrestleMania 33. See you there!
