NEWS: WWE SENDS YOUNG BUCKS A "CEASE AND DESIST" LETTER
Just over 24 hours after the Bullet Club invaded RAW, WWE sent an actual "cease and desist" letter to popular ROH and NJPW's tag team, The Young Bucks, over the use of the "Two Sweet" hand gesture. Therefore, WWE is demanding the Bucks stop using WWE intellectual property in-ring and on any merchandise. If not, they may be hit with $150K in damages or more. WWE also wants an agreement from them in writing to not use any other company IP in the future.
That means if The Bucks don't fight this, they can't use the "Suck it" and "Too Sweet" catchphrases and gestures. Ryan Satin from the Pro Wrestling Sheet reportedly contacted the team's lawyers, but it's unknown if they will agree with it or fight it.
It's certainly not the last we've heard from this, so stay tuned for more updates.
Personally, I think that legally WWE can do this, but they decided not to until now. I think at the moment they feel the Bullet Club have a lot of consequences on their product, including the "Fuck The Revival" chant and the invasion on Monday, and want to fight them. After all, WWE holds the monopoly of professional wrestling, and any little competition is not in WWE's best interest.
