DA' HELL HAPPENED #11: WWE Monday Night RAW & WWE SmackDown Live, August 29/30 2016

Written by: RĂºben Duarte
Hey everyone! Welcome to a brand new edition of "Da' Hell Happened", the first in its new format. From now on, Da' Hell Happened will cover not only WWE Monday Night RAW, but also SmackDown Live, all in one, EVERY WEDNESDAY. So let's break down the most important happenings (good or bad) of this week's RAW and SmackDown Live!

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW - AUGUST 29, 2016

This week's RAW featured:
- All four participants of the Fatal Four Way match for the WWE Universal Championship in the ring at the same time
- Chris Jericho def. Neville
- Nia Jax def. Hyan
- Sami Zayn def. Jinder Mahal
- WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day & Bayley def. Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & Dana Brooke
- Sheamus def. Cesaro (leads the Best Of Seven Series at 2-0)
- Braun Strowman def. Americo
- Paul Heyman pays Brock Lesnar's fine and apologizes to RAW's commissioner Stephanie McMahon
- Darren Young (w/ Bob Backlund) def. Titus O'Neil
- Kevin Owens def. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Big Cass to win the WWE Universal Championship

HONORABLE MENTIONS (GOOD THINGS): Chris Jericho vs. Neville, The New Day/Bayley pairing

Needless to say Chris Jericho continues to be a top heel in the WWE, week in and week out. And despite not being properly used, Neville is still one of the best athletes in WWE today. New Day and Bayley complete each other. They are entertaining, funny and can handle the big leagues.

MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns vs. Big Cass

Few will disagree with this. This match had it all: intensity, eliminations, surprises and shocking moments, all in one. In my opinion, the ending and the crowning of a new WWE Universal Champion is one of the best moments in WWE in recent memories, if not one of the best moments in RAW history. Simply no one saw this one coming. The return of Triple H adds a lot of new possibilities to the table, including a face turn by Seth Rollins and a future match between both former Authority members. Also justice finally was served to Kevin Owens after treating him to a poor #18 in the WWE Draft a couple of months ago, after he proved to be one of the most consistent performers in the entire company.

MVP OF THE NIGHT: Kevin Owens

Yes, ladies and gentleman. Without a shadow of a doubt, KO is the MVP for this week's RAW, becoming the center of attention after Finn BĂ¡lor injured his shoulder last week and had to relinquish the Universal Title. Eyes on Kevin Owens, the new WWE Universal Champion.

DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE NIGHT: Finish to Young/Titus match

So let me see this: The referee counts a roll-up from Young to Titus, and clearly his left shoulder is not on the mat. How can Young be celebrating and not be worried about a possible attack from behind by Titus, when he gave him little offense during the entire match? He's not going to be on the ground forever because you threw him out of the ring. Another confusing segment to a repetitive and meaningless story. WWE, end it, please.

WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE! - AUGUST 30, 2016

This week's SD Live featured:
- Dolph Ziggler calls The Miz a coward
- The Hype Bros def. The Vaudevillains (SD Tag Team Championship tournament)
- AJ Styles def. Apollo Crews
- Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton's "verbal vitriol" continued, leads to a match at Backlash
- Natalya & Alexa Bliss def. Becky Lynch & Naomi
- Heath Slater & Rhyno def. The Headbangers
- Baron Corbin def. WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose via DQ

MATCH OF THE NIGHT: AJ Styles vs. Apollo Crews

Great match from both competitors. If you know these men from the indies, you were certainly excited for the bout. The agility, speed and technique was good in the match. Crews continues to be underrated, while Styles continues to apply his A-game every night he competes.

MVP OF THE NIGHT: Tied between Baron Corbin and AJ Styles

AJ is the major threat to the top champion of SmackDown, Dean Ambrose. At the same time, Corbin was impressive in the main event with the WWE World Champion, applying good offense and showing he is getting better every week. So I call this one a tie. You can ring the bell, if you want.

DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE NIGHT: Gary "The Milkman" Millman appearance

Okay, that one felt more outta nowhere than Randy Orton's RKO. Where did this guy come from? Also I read on Reddit something like "Gary The Milkman Millman has a better body than your Raw champ. Think about that.". I think I don't want to live in this world anymore.

With this, I wrap up this week's Da' Hell Happened edition. Next week we'll be back with the first RAW in the KOMania era, as well as more Tag Team action on SmackDown with eyes set on the SD Tag Team Titles, and much more.
