DA' HELL HAPPENED #42: WWE Monday Night RAW - April 10, 2017
Hey guys, and welcome to another edition of "Da' Hell Happened" featuring the review of the first night of the two-night "Superstar Shake-up" event that is literally shaking every bit of both RAW and SmackDown LIVE' rosters. Braun Strowman completely destroyed Braun Strowman, while lots of top superstars from SmackDown LIVE made the move to the "red brand". So let's go!
RESULTS:
Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose confronted "John Cena" (The Miz)
The Revival def. The New Day
Big Show welcomed Curt Hawkins to RAW
TJ Perkins def. Austin Aries
RAW GM Kurt Angle revealed Seth Rollins will stay on RAW
Nia Jax def. Charlotte Flair
Finn Bálor def. Jinder Mahal
Sami Zayn def. The Miz
Braun Strowman attacked Roman Reigns
RAW Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz, Cesaro & Sheamus def. Gallows & Anderson and The Shining Stars
Alexa Bliss and Mickie James confronted the RAW Women's division in Bayley and Sasha Banks
Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose def. United States Champion Kevin Owens
SUPERSTARS DRAFTED TO RAW:
- The Miz & Maryse
- Dean Ambrose
- Curt Hawkins
- Bray Wyatt
- Apollo Crews
- Heath Slater & Rhyno
- Kalisto
- Elias Samson (from NXT)
- Alexa Bliss
- Mickie James
MATCH OF THE NIGHT: Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. United States Champion Kevin Owens
After the Intercontinental Champion was drafted to RAW, the United States Champion wanted to make sure that the "Lunatic Fringe" knew who was the real champion in the "red brand". Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose collided in the main event of Monday Night RAW, and produced the night's best match. Not only did Ambrose collect the first victory on RAW after moving to the show of the Mondays, but he participated in the main event of his first night back. The Intercontinental Champion is on a roll. Now, it's time to know who will be his challenger from RAW and if SmackDown LIVE will be left without a "mid-card" championship.
MVP OF THE NIGHT (HONORABLE MENTIONS):
The Revival: Knocking off the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time twice in a row is a big accomplishment, and the only 2-time NXT Tag Team Champions in history did just that. The Revival are "top guys", and probably the top contenders to the Tag Team titles after Cesaro and Sheamus get their shot.
Nia Jax: She had a pretty awesome night after knocking off the 4-time WWE Women's Champion in Charlotte Flair in a solid match (Jax failed to catch Flair after a moonsault, which could have resulted in a serious injury after Flair bounced with her head directly on the mat). After that, she destroyed the RAW Women's Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks, and also introduced Mickie James and Alexa Bliss to RAW.
MVP OF THE NIGHT: Braun Strowman
Oh. My. God. That was a very savage moment, to say the least. Braun Strowman completely destroyed Roman Reigns and even lifted an ambulance with Roman on the inside. Very awesome footage produced by WWE. Not only was it awesome, but it also elevated Strowman to a able-to-defeat-Lesnar level most superstars would kill to be at. Only one negative critic to be appointed: Roman can't continue to be that respectful and good guy anymore. Cut the crap, make him a dominant S.O.B already.
DA' HELL HAPPENED MOMENT OF THE SHOW: Curt Hawkins introduced to RAW
Hawkins could have easily been drafted to RAW and announced online. Not only that, but it could have helped someone else. Instead, Big Show got the momentum of the scene. Not a nice segment, at all.
Tomorrow I'll be back for the DHH about SmackDown LIVE, to finish this 2-night "Superstar Shake-up" event that is rocking the rosters of both RAW and SmackDown LIVE. Who will be drafted and what will happen tonight, especially with the WWE Championship scene after the #1 contender moved to RAW? See you tomorrow.
